A trip going to Ilocos Sur was my quick vacation before I embrace the work to be a full-time teacher.
It was a two-day trip that starts on a Friday night. The travel took us more than 6 hours to reach the vicinity of Ilocos Sur. A butt-numbing road trip, indeed!
We alighted to our first stop – Marcos Bridge.
After taking photos, we head to the Church of Nuestra Senora de la Asuncion or also known as Santa Maria Church.
After the first two spots, we had our breakfast in Sir Pat’s house and refreshed afterwards.
After a quick rest, we head to continue our tour.
The Bell Tower serves as a watch tower during World War I and II.
The Hidden Garden has a little museum inside aside from the garden.
The Pottery House let you experience how to make pots. There are no entrance fees or anything. But you can give donations or love gift.
The place is called Baluarte ni Chavit as it was named after the owner, Governor Chavit Singson. Be ready to see different species in this place. Entrance is free.
We then visited the famous Vigan Heritage which hailed as a one of the seven wonders cities of the world. This is where we bought our souvenirs and their famous delicacies.
We wrapped the day by having a grand dinner and soaking ourselves to the bath tub available at the house. The next day, we all woke up late and had the most delicious breakfast. Sir Pat’s mom is surely a chef of their house!
Expenses:
We had contributed P1000.00 each person. It includes our transportation, our meal at the house, the tour and accommodation. Great isn’t? 😉
